Left at 9:40 arrived at 10:50.Up to a very wet day, Jess had had Derek up at 3.30 where she promptly put her back legs in the river, her and Orlando love the sheep field as they enjoy a snack of pooh? Disgusting of what. Just as we prepared to set off a black head with white goggles appeared at the side of the boat, a man swimming!  Derek asked if he was a triathlete he said no, too old and then turned back to meet a lady in the water.  Thankfully we saw him as we were about to pull out of the mooring, people do the strangest things!!!!  The rain was pelting down and we had decided that if we could find a mooring we would stop at Henley.  Went through Henley lock by ourselves, told lockie about swimmer, he said the regatta crews when finished swam off Temple Island which we would be passing on entering Henley, he thought they were mad as well.  As we approached Henley there were rowing crews everywhere and a series of flags and buoys set up for the regatta the signage wasnt very good again and I think we went down wrong channel, but got it right in the end.  They also put up a kind of barrier up to divide the river into three, a series of white pilings with wood stretched between them.   To our surprise there were moorings at the right hand side of the river next to parkland, opposite some of the rowing clubs, with a fee of £6, we pulled in and moored. Not long after mooring the same man who collected yesterdays fee came for todays, all this land belongs to SRB holdings, it was a bit of a walk into town but very pleasant and no pooh snacks for the dogs. I did a bit of painting of the kitchen hatch doors and then we went into town for lunch. I had beef and yorkshires and chocolate bread and butter puds, Derek had steak and ale pie and apple crumble, it was scrumptious.  Did bit of shopping and back to the boat in the still pouring rain.  No tele so DVD tonight.
